Climate – Slovenia
Slovenia lies between the Alps, the Pannonian Plain and the Adriatic, so the climate changes over short distances: Mediterranean on the coast, continental inland and alpine in the mountains. The west and the Julian Alps get the most precipitation, afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer, and fog often lingers in the basins in winter.
Averages 2022–2024 (Ljubljana): the warmest month is July (average daytime high 28.9 °C), the coldest January (average night-time low −3.3 °C). About 1281 mm of precipitation falls per year; the wettest month is September (154 mm), the driest February (51 mm), with around 122 days of at least 1 mm.
